Appleford-on-Thames is a village and civil parish on the south bank of the River Thames about 2 miles (3 km) north of Didcot, Oxfordshire. It was part of Berkshire until the 1974 local government boundary changes. The 2011 Census recorded the parish’s population as 350.

There is a proposed development for a 300MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facility on land off the B4016. The consultation will be held in Appleford Village Hall on Tuesday 22nd October from 12pm to 7pm

Later this year, the two district councils will be submitting a plan to the government that aims to help meet their local communities’ need for housing, jobs and infrastructure - and they have now made it publicly available for a six-week period.
