Public Consultation on Proposed Development
There is a proposed development for a 300MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facility on land off the B4016. The consultation will be held in Appleford Village Hall on Tuesday 22nd October from 12pm to 7pm

Appleford Parish Council have received a letter from RPS Consulting Services Ltd, outlining a proposed development of a 300MW BESS Facility in the form of battery energy storage units and associated infrastructure, which will be connected to the National Grid. The purpose of the facility will be to store surplus electricity to feed back into the Grid as required during peak periods of demand.

RPS has now submitted a formal request to the Vale of White Horse for an EIA Screening Opinion for a 300MW Battery Energy Storage System Development.
