Appleford Village Hall Manager 

Term: Initially offered on a one-year contract, but with scope to be made into a permanent role.

Pay:   £12:26 to £14.36 an hour depending upon experience.

Hours:   the working hours will start at 5 hours per week and may rise to a maximum of 10 hours per week subject to the number of bookings. Evenings and weekends when needed to meet needs of hirers.  Note – the contracted hours will require to be broken up through the week, not worked as one block.

Holiday: 28 days a year pro rata plus bank holidays

Place of Work:    The role is predominantly working from home but some attendance at Appleford Village Hall will be required.

Equipment provided:  Laptop, printer and mobile phone (which remain the property of Appleford Village Hall CIO).

Appleford Village Hall CIO is seeking to employ a village hall manager to help run our fantastic community venue. We are looking for a ‘can do’ attitude and a person who enjoys a job with lots of variety. Excellent communication skills and IT proficiency are essential.

Appleford Village Hall CIO, a registered charity, is situated along the main road through Appleford within the recreation ground and provides a venue for community events and activities.

The job holder will be employed by Appleford Parish Council, the sole trustee of the Appleford Village Hall charity, and will be primarily responsible for managing the hall bookings and day to day administration but will also get involved with event organisation and promotion. The ideal candidate will be innovative and will enjoy working with the volunteers and assisting in putting together an itinerary of community and fundraising events. The role will also involve assisting to organise hall maintenance and safety checks, liaising with support staff and contractors and with various hirers to ensure the hall and events run smoothly and efficiently.
